Position Summary
At Junebug Play & Learning Space, we believe everyone who walks through our doors (including our employees) should be having fun when they're in our space, which is why we want to work with people who are friendly, thoughtful, and eager to contribute to a kind, inclusive environment for all.
We're currently looking for an experienced, team‑oriented Customer Service & Sales Associate to join our crew! This is a part‑time position in Ridgefield, WA for weekend day shifts on Saturday and Sunday.
Desired Skills & Traits
We are looking for someone who cares about:
- Working with families with young children
- Maintaining an environment that is welcoming and joyful, while also prioritizing the safety and well‑being of all guests
To thrive in this position, you will need to be:
- Reliable—you take ownership over your tasks and responsibilities, showing up for and completing tasks with a high level of quality, communicativeness, and timeliness.
- Attentive—you pay attention to all the details, big and small. Whether that's finding a tiny way to make a customer's day or noticing an area that needs to be tidied, you have a watchful eye on the day‑to‑day happenings to ensure everything is running smoothly.
- Communicative—you are a strong active listener, but can also confidently and clearly articulate information to others and are unafraid of being direct when needed. You navigate verbal and written interactions with tact and thoughtfulness.
- People‑oriented—you care about people, whether that's your fellow coworkers or guests in the space, and you're able to be a positive, helpful, empathetic, friendly presence that helps Junebug maintain a warm and community‑oriented environment.
- Professional—you speak kindly of yourself and others. You act with accountability, integrity, and honesty. You lead and contribute to the success of your team.
- Organized—you can familiarize yourself with and navigate existing systems and processes, and also contribute to the refinement of the systems and processes to help Junebug run as efficiently as possible. When there are multiple tasks to be completed, you're able to prioritize, and if needed, delegate or ask for help.
- Adaptable—you don't mind having a work day that isn't planned by the minute or hour. Working at an indoor play space and being adjacent to young children while you're on the clock means that you don't always know what the day has in store for you, but you're flexible and open to wearing different hats throughout your day. With various birthday parties, events, classes, and workshops happening at Junebug, this also means that some days require you to come in before or stay after the hours of a traditional nine to five.
